Paramount Schedule Update Confirms 2024 Release Date for Smile 2.
Paramount Pictures has revealed the release date for Smile 2 to hit cinemas.

· Smile 2, the sequel to the successful horror film, Smile, will hit theaters on October 18, 2024, according to Paramount Pictures’ updated release calendar.
· Paramount Pictures delayed the release of the Bob Marley biopic One Love to February 14, 2024, and the Mean Girls musical will now be released on January 12, originally set for Paramount+.
· 2022 was a great year for horror films, with Smile standing out as one of the best releases. The genre saw a range of diverse stories and competition from blockbusters like Barbarian and streaming exclusives like Prey and Hellraiser reboot.
Paramount Pictures has updated its release calendar to add the arrival of Smile 2, with the announcement coming almost one year after the release of the first chapter in the studio’s latest horror franchise.
Smile was one of the great surprises of 2022. Directed by Parker Finn, in his directional debut, the story follows Dr. Rose Cotter, who witnesses the tragic incident involving a patient of hers. Following the terrifying event, she begins to experience strange and dark happenings , which will lead her to investigate her own past to combat the ghosts that haunt her in the present.
The film stars Sosie Bacon as Dr. Rose Cotter, Meghan Brown Pratt as young Rose, Kyle Gallner as Joel, Caitlin Stasey as Laura Weaver, Jessie T. Usher as Trevor, Rob Morgan as Robert Talley, Kal Penn as Dr. Morgan Desai, Robin Weigert as Dr. Madeline Northcott, Judy Reyes as Victoria Munoz, Gillian Zinser as Holly, Dora Kiss as Rose’s Mother, and many more.
Updating its schedule for next year, Paramount Pictures has finally set a premiere date for Smile 2, a project that was confirmed following the hugely successful box office of Smile. Variety confirms that the sequel will hit theaters on October 18, 2024.
It is no coincidence that Paramount Pictures has decided to build a franchise based on Smile, since the film managed to become one of the best horror releases of 2022, even though it had a lot of competition. Last year was a very good one for the genre, full of films of all kinds, with very different stories that gave horror fans a wide variety of choices to enjoy on the big screen.
In addition to Smile, some other great blockbusters included Barbarian, Jordan Peele’s Nope, Scream V, and streaming exclusives such as Prey and the reboot of Hellraiser. Other notable titles from independent production companies were The Innocents, Nanny, Bull, Netflix’s The House, and X and Pearl, which are part of a trilogy that will come to an end with MaXXXine. MaXXXine is set to follow the story of the titular character, played by Mia Goth, who after surviving the events of X moves to Los Angeles to fulfill her dream of becoming a great actress.

Paramount Players has rounded out the cast for horror Something’s Wrong with Rose.
Jessie T. Usher, Kyle Gallner and Kal Penn will join the previously announced Mare of Easttown actress Sosie Bacon. Rob Morgan, Judy Reyes, Caitlin Stasey and Gillian Zinser will also star in the movie from writer-director Parker Finn.
Bacon will play a psychiatrist who, after a bizarre and traumatic event involving a patient, begins to experience terrifying occurrences that only she can see, and grows increasingly convinced that she’s being pursued by a malevolent supernatural force.
The movie, which is based on Parker’s SXSW award-winning short film Laura Hasn’t Slept, will be produced by Temple Hill. Nathan Samdahl and Natalia Maymi will oversee the project for Paramount Players.
